My card is inspired by this Retro Sketches challenge.  

I particularly like this sketch because it's a good way to use up the scrap papers. :)

Freshly Made Sketches

It's been a busy summer, so it's quite hard to find some time to make some cards.  Today, I'm playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches  challenge.  It must be the fact that I haven't made a card for quite a while.  It took me quite some time to get the right set of pattern papers that go well together.

Less is More challenge - Sunset

I find I`m not very good at the color challenge.  But I`ll give it a try anyway.. 

I`m playing along with the Less Is More color challenge.  The topic is sunset.  I first think of this golden card stock which was used as the base behind the lion stamp.  Adding to it is the orange glitter birthday hat.  The glitter is coming from a Halloween themed glitter package, but I think it serves pretty well here.

Last minute birthday card request

I just realized that I'm so behind on cards.  Normally, I have one or two extra bday cards for emergency.  But it looks like I now have more excuse to make more cards. :)

That's probably the last card I'll make for this year.  Need to clean up my desk and house in general to get ready for the baby to come. :)

Preparing for 2015

Made another card today with the Freshly Made Sketch challenge.  Here's my take.  I find it a bit blank.  Perhaps I should add some germs to it.  

CAS(E) this Sketch

Now that I'm done with the Xmas cards, it's time to plan a bit on the cards to give out next year.  I'm playing along with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  It's been foggy out there, so my cellphone doesn't take very good pictures of the card.  May post a better quality pic later. :) 

Freshly made sketches

It's this monster cardstock again!  I figured that instead of remembering which card I give to whom (so that they won't be getting similar paper patterns all the time), I'll make most cards out of the same cardstock at the same time. Of course to give it out within a couple of months.  

This time, I'm playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. 

I was trying to make each word with different colors.  Since it's a clear stamp, it doesn't work very well with my colored markers.  So that's my solution.

Sketch challenge

It's been quite stressful and hectic at work these days.  So I decided to take a break tonight.... i.e. making some card.. of course, I did some chores too! :(

I made this card fairly quickly, because I have the recipient in mind, and then I thought of the "cupcake" paper I have.  Looking for challenges to participate, I found the Freshly Made Sketches.  Excuse the quality of photo -- the room is a little dark and i'm using my phone to take it, so that I can guarantee to make it to the challenge. :P 

Rock your style

I'm participating in 365cards challenge --"rock your style". My style has been clean and simple.  I particularly adore cards with few elements in the cards yet still look fabulous.

Got this butterflies card stock earlier and I'm loving it. Its the first card I made out of it.  I'm playing along with these 2 challenges:

I tried to use glitters for the sentiment, but it turns out that the characters are not very sharp, so I went back to use regular ink.     

Paper players: Clean and Simple Masculine Challenge

It's the first time I played along in the Paper players challenge -- Clean and Simple Masculine Challenge.  I always find it's hard to make a masculine card.  But I'm quite happy with this one.

I got a set of green card stocks at Michael's a while ago, and I love it!  And the sentiment has black glitter on it, though it doesn't show very well in the picture. 

Clean and simple

Work has been very hectic lately, so didn't really have time to make any cards or even to think about it.  With March break coming, I have an excuse to take some days off. :)   I like the sketch challenge from Clean and Simple blog because that's exactly the stickers I got a while ago.  

Here is a closer look.  I put some white glitter on the cloud.

Clean and simple

It's been quite a relaxing weekend... got some time to clean up the house, and more importantly, to do some crafting as well. :)  I'm playing along in clean and simple sketch challenge.

After finishing the basic structure of the card, I find it's a bit plain on the top.  So I score the first half of the card to give some texture.  Here is a closer look:

New paper and ribbon.. getting ready for the new year!

So excited about getting some new card stocks at Michael's few days ago.  This card uses one of the paper I've got. :)  Together with the new ribbon.  I kind of regret I didn't buy more colors of the same ribbon.  I start to like it now.

Glitter up

I saw a very nice youtube video today on how to use glitter.  It's a very informative tutorial and it works too! Coincidentally, I got a pack of glitters with different colors few weeks ago and still haven't tried it out.  So with the sketch challenge in the Sweet Things, I have this card for the challenge:
