It's the time of the year that you'd think "time flies! it's almost the end of the year". From what I've read in the book "Time warped", human perceive time goes faster when they are happy. I wish all of you think 2012 passes by very fast. :) When I looked back, I'm happy with what I've accomplished... crafting-wise and other stuff. It's more important, right?
Anyway, back to cards. I'm playing along in 365 cards super sketchy Sunday challenge. I got a pack of vday crafting kit some time ago, and saw a bunch of hearts that are made from non-traditional vday color. So I'm making a line of hearts that mix the ones in the kit and ones I've cut out.
Hope you like it, and have a happy new year!

New paper and ribbon.. getting ready for the new year!
So excited about getting some new card stocks at Michael's few days ago. This card uses one of the paper I've got. :) Together with the new ribbon. I kind of regret I didn't buy more colors of the same ribbon. I start to like it now.
I'm playing along in the Mojo Monday challenge. Hope you like this card.

Christmas is a week away!
With Christmas only a week away, I've made the last Christmas card of the year (I think). I'm playing along with the Jingle Belles challenge, and the Crazy 4 Challenge - Favorite holiday stamp. I got the Merry Christmas stamp from a blog candy. It's not only a good stamp to use for Christmas, it's also a sign of luck, so I like it very much. :)
Hope you like the card. And Merry Christmas!

Glamour and Glitz
This week's theme for "Less is More" challenge is Glamour and Glitz. I'm so excited about this challenge, because I think I started to know how to use glitter. :)
There are some "shiny hearts" around the snowman. At the bottom half of the card, I stamped a few snowflakes and used embossing power & fine white glitter on top of them.

Glitter up
I saw a very nice youtube video today on how to use glitter. It's a very informative tutorial and it works too! Coincidentally, I got a pack of glitters with different colors few weeks ago and still haven't tried it out. So with the sketch challenge in the Sweet Things, I have this card for the challenge:

Using up scrap paper
As I mentioned in my previous post, I now have to try hard to use up the scrap paper after making mini-albums for my son's birthday party. I think it's a challenge by itself. Anyway, I'm playing along in "Less is More" sketch challenge. For some reason, the sentiment is a bit out of focus, so it looked a bit blurry. I was using clear embossing powder over the sentiment to give it some dimension. Hope you like it.

You are a super star
I'm playing along in the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. After making a few mini-albums for my son's birthday party. I got a lot of scrap paper. That means there are reasons to make some cards. :)

More embossing
I haven't really counted how many christmas cards I'm going to make this year, but this is just the beginning. I first made the card with just the pink banner and the "merry christmas" sentiment. But then I thought it's a bit too plain, so I've added a christmas tree and some snow flakes. Now, I think I like the original version better. :)
I'm playing along with Jingle belles - Dashing through the snow challenge.

Hello baby
My friend is expecting a baby boy, so I'm making a baby card for her. I'm inspired by the Clean&Simple challenge this week. After making it, I realized the color combination isn't too baby-like. Hope it could stand out from the tons of baby cards she's receiving. :)

Sketch challenge
It's Labor Day long weekend. So finally I got some time to play with my crafting stuff. It's been a busy weekend... a wedding to attend, a friend's gathering to go to... Anyway, I found a new card challenge blog. It's called iSpy Sketches. This is the sketch for the week:
And this is my card:
Thanks for visiting. Hope you like the card.

It's Christmas time.... not yet
It's almost the end of July. That means I need to start making Christmas cards!! I know it's a bit early. but I work slowly plus with a baby, it's hard to find time for some crafting.
Anyway, this is the card I've made during the weekend for the Jingle Belles challenge. The challenge is to use red or green color in the card but not both. I used the opaque embossing powder for the image and then dab on some ink on it. The color distribution is a bit uneven but it wasn't too bad when you look from afar. :)
Hope you like it.
P.S. It's getting late. I'll take some better pictures on this card later and upload it.

In Bloom
My wedding anniversary is coming up (geez... still haven't thought of what to get for anniversary gift!!) It's our 5th anniversary. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!!
I'm participating 2 card challenges here:
1. Simply Less is More : header as inspiration
2. Allsorts challenge - in bloom
The first thing I think about the header is the blog headers of the crafts sites I usually visit. They're just so pretty!! I think it didn't turn out exactly I want. I don't know if the color combination is not right or the text is not prominent enough, or the flowers are not close enough.
I have a flower punch that I haven't used for ages. I suddenly "discovered" that when looking up some other things in my crafts drawer. This is my very first punch I got actually!!
Hope you like it.
Happy birthday card
As I've mentioned, with the vacation days I'm taking, I got a super long weekend. I'm so glad that I can catch up on my card making. I just realized that I still haven't made the birthday card for my hubby!! So, I'm playing along in the 365 cards sketch challenge.
And here is my take on it:

Clean and simple
It's Canada Day long weekend. I hope I can have some free time to catch up on some card making. I'm low on the inventory for the cards. I'm playing along with the Clean and Simple challenge.
It's for my friend's baby shower. Love the duckies card stock and the sticker I got at the beginning of the year.

It's been a while...
This is my take on 365 cards super sketch sunday challenge.
It's been a while that I've posted anything. Life has been busy, but I kept getting new craft stuff during these time, like the baker's twine and buttons on the card. The twine looks a bit sloppy here because i stick the orange background to the card before adhering the twine, so I have to use the glue to adhere it. Lesson learned... always think thorough what you're planning to do before doing it!!
Thanks for visiting.

Things with wings
For the Paper play challenge "Things with wings", I'm taking a twist on it. Instead of using stamped images or stickers that have wings, I'm using a very cute crochet butterfly for this birthday card. I got this butterfly from AmiyaSara store online. To complement the dimension of the butterfly, I've made the "happy birthday to you" sentiment more prominent by having the hearts sticking out.
Hope you like it.

Ribbon, Stripes, purple
Saw a quite interesting card challenge from allsorts challenge. It's called color bingos. From the bingo grid, select a line in any direction or four corners. So I picked ribbon, stripes and purple.
Here is my take on it:
I got some purple card stock from last time I made a purple card, and then use dry embossing to give some patterns on the paper. Also, I've got crocheted flowers from AimyaSara Etsy store.

Preparing for Father's Day
It's been a while since my last post. Life has been busy and also I've almost done with the cards that I have to give out for the first half of the year, so I got lazy. :P But I can imagine I'll have more posts starting in Aug.. to prepare Christmas cards. :) geez.. I can't believe I'm talking about Christmas already!!
Anyways, I'm participating 2 challenges:
1) Less is more - color challenge (3 shades of green)
I wanted to find a green card stock to be the background, but couldn't find one that quite match, so I'm using a pale yellow card stock instead. The strip patterned paper has a few shades of green. And I've brushed some green ink on the edge for the "happy father's day" flag.
2) Another challenge is Clean and Simple sketch challenge.

Butterflies punch
My sis is not into craft but she got this Martha Stewart butterflies punch some time ago, and lent it to me. It's just adorable!! Back to the challenge, this week's "less is more" challenges is punches and diecuts. After punching the strip of butterflies, I stamp some pink ink on top. I just love it. I hope I didn't make the card too bad to spoil it.

Bundle of Joy
I'm making a baby card for a friend who's having a baby boy. It's always a pleasure to make baby cards, cuz it's really something to celebrate. But at the same time, since I've finished the scrapbook for my son, I have lots of baby boy related stuff in my stock, I had a hard time to pick which one I wanna use.
Anyway, here is my take on the Clean and Simple challenge:

Another cupcake
I recently got this hero arts cupcake stamps, and just love it. It's the first set of cling stamps I have, and I think it's easier to work with than the clear stamps I usually have.
I'm playing along with the "less is more" challenge for a purple card.
